The U.S. Census Bureau has released new data tables detailing the foreign-born population by generation, based on findings from the 2024 Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement (CPS ASEC).

These tables provide information on several aspects of the population, including employment status, education levels, household income, poverty rates, race, age, and sex. The data are organized into three groups: first generation (foreign-born individuals), second generation (those with at least one foreign-born parent), and third-and-higher generation (individuals with two U.S.-born parents).

The Current Population Survey is a long-standing national survey that serves as a primary source for monthly labor force statistics in the United States. It also gathers data for various studies to help inform the public about economic and social conditions.
