Shawn Smith, an oncology nurse at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, has been recognized as the latest “Hometown Hero” by CBS 12 News. Smith’s work focuses on supporting patients during challenging times, a commitment shaped by personal experience.

Smith chose his career path in memory of his younger brother, who died from cancer. Reflecting on his brother’s impact, Smith said, “Everybody loved him. Everybody knew him. He commanded a room when he walked in.”

Good Samaritan Medical Center is part of the Palm Beach Health Network.
