Palm Beach Health Network (PBHN) is marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October by expanding access to mammogram services and hosting community events focused on breast health. The network, which operates six hospitals and care centers across Palm Beach County, aims to make breast cancer screening more accessible for women in the region.
PBHN has four locations where women can receive mammograms: Imaging Center Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Imaging Center Palm Beach Gardens, Imaging Center Royal Palm Beach, and Imaging Center Palm Court near Delray Medical Center. The Comprehensive Breast Center at Good Samaritan Medical Center also offers breast health services.
Regular hours for these facilities are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but additional hours have been added throughout October. The Imaging Center Palm Beach Gardens will be open every Thursday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., as well as Saturday, October 18th from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Imaging Center Royal Palm Beach will extend its hours every Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and on Saturdays, October 11th and October 25th from 8 a.m. to noon. At the Imaging Center Palm Court, extended hours are available every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and every Saturday in October from 8 a.m. to noon.
Good Samaritan Medical Center will host two free public events during the month. On October 7th, Dr. Kathleen Minnick, a breast surgeon, will speak about the importance of breast cancer screenings and treatment options as part of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Palm Beach County She Lives Well Series. This event takes place from noon to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s atrium at 1309 Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach.
A second event, Paint and Create, will be held on October 16th from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., also in the Good Samaritan atrium. This art-focused gathering is designed for cancer survivors, those currently undergoing treatment, families who have lost loved ones to cancer, caregivers, and healthcare workers supporting patients with breast cancer. Guided instruction will be provided by two artists; no prior art experience is necessary. Light refreshments will be served and space is limited—RSVPs are required by October 14th via phone at 844-699-1310.
Maggie Gill, Eastern Group President at PBHN said: “With early detection as your best chance at a good outcome, Palm Beach Health Network has four convenient locations for mammograms. We are committed to ensuring that every woman has access to vital breast health services.”
PBHN is recognized as the largest healthcare network in Palm Beach County with hospitals including Delray Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Palm Beach Children’s Hospital, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and West Boca Medical Center.
