Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center has completed its first Aquablation procedure, a minimally invasive surgery designed to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as enlarged prostate. The procedure was performed by Dr. Sean L. Sawh, a surgical urologist at the hospital.
Aquablation therapy uses the AquaBeam Robotic System, which combines real-time imaging with robotic precision and a heat-free waterjet to remove excess prostate tissue. This technology aims to provide consistent results for patients regardless of their prostate size or anatomy.
Dr. Sawh emphasized the benefits of this approach for patients seeking less invasive options. “Aquablation therapy allows us to treat BPH with remarkable accuracy while preserving quality of life,” said Dr. Sean Sawh. “We are excited to bring this advanced technology to Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and to offer our patients a treatment option that is both precise and tailored to their individual needs.”
Hospital CEO Erik Cazares highlighted the significance of introducing Aquablation therapy at the facility. “This milestone reflects our continuous effort to expaand access to advanced, patient-centered care,” said Erik Cazares, CEO of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center. “We are proud of Dr. Sawh and our OR team for bringing this innovative therapy to our community and enhancing the high-quality urologic care we deliver every day.”
