Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) has received a statewide award for its communications strategies related to the LeMieux Center for Public Policy. The university was honored with the 2025 Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Radiance Award in the Public Service category. The recognition covers PBA’s public relations and digital communications work during the 2023-2024 academic year, which aimed to bring more than 700 guests to campus and expand engagement beyond the center’s lectures.
PBA’s efforts included distributing The Quill newsletter, conducting email marketing campaigns, and generating local press coverage about speakers and events hosted by the LeMieux Center.
“This prestigious communications award reflects our commitment to elevating free speech and civil dialogue around relevant topics—something that’s critical for any higher education institution,” said Dr. Debra A. Schwinn, president of PBA. “We are grateful to PRSA for recognizing our work to showcase the important issues confronting Florida, the United States, and the world.”
The winners were announced at the PRSA Sunshine District Conference 2025 Radiance Awards held in Jacksonville. The award highlights campaigns that excel in research, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
PRSA is a major professional organization for communicators with over 400 chapters across several countries including the United States, Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, and Puerto Rico. It provides development programs, networking events, and leadership opportunities.
Founded in 2012 by former Senator George LeMieux—who represented Florida as its 34th U.S. Senator—the LeMieux Center has hosted numerous leaders and experts discussing domestic and global policy topics.
