Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) began its Christmas season with the annual Christmas tree lighting on December 1. The event took place on Baxter Green, drawing students, alumni, faculty, and community members to celebrate together.

Guests were welcomed by decorated palm and Christmas trees. Holiday treats were available, including hot chocolate and a cookie decorating station. Children played in artificial snow, and Sailfish Jack joined them for activities.

A train ride was offered to attendees for a tour of the campus decorated with lights and arches. Many participants wore festive outfits such as ugly sweaters and Santa bears; those with standout costumes received Sailfish Swag bags. Pets also participated, dressed in holiday attire.

Photo opportunities were provided at a free booth with Christmas props for families and friends to capture memories.

The PBA choir performed carols as part of the ceremony. University President Dr. Debra A. Schwinn read from Luke 2: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favor rests.” Following this reading, the choir led a rendition of “Silent Night,” inviting audience participation before the countdown to light the main tree.

The evening continued with festivities after the lighting ceremony, marking the start of PBA’s Christmas celebrations.
