Faculty members at Palm Beach Atlantic University have received recognition for their achievements as the new academic year approaches.
Two professors were named Fulbright U.S. Scholars for 2025-2026. Dr. Thomas Parham will travel to Canada to study how the film and television industry shapes cultural identity. Dr. Marcus Valenzuela will conduct research in Hungary, working with faculty in organizational behavior and human resource development.
The university recently hosted its annual Community Day event, where faculty and staff gathered for worship and fellowship before the start of classes. During the event, Dr. Elizabeth Stice received the 2025 Charles and Hazel Corts Award for Outstanding Teaching, while Jacquelyn Switalski was recognized as Employee of the Year.
Dr. Gregory Rummo, professor of chemistry, contributed an opinion piece titled “Americans Need More Dependance on One Another this Independence Day” to the USA TODAY Network. He also wrote “I teach college chemistry. Christianity and science can work together,” which appeared in the Palm Beach Post.
In addition, Dr. Elizabeth Stice published an article called “Imitation as a First Step to Teaching Excellence” in The Teaching Professor.
