Duke Energy has announced that Jeffrey Guldner will join its board of directors starting September 15. He will also serve on the Compensation and People Development Committee and the Finance and Risk Management Committee.

His prior experience provides a unique lens that will strengthen the board with distinct perspectives and help drive constructive outcomes for Duke Energy, its employees, customers and shareholders.”
Guldner retired as chairman of the board, president, and CEO of Pinnacle West Capital Corporation and APS on March 31 after five years leading those companies. He continues in a non-executive advisory role at Pinnacle West until March 2026.
During his tenure at APS, Arizona experienced significant economic growth. Guldner helped APS address record energy demands while focusing on maintaining affordable rates and reliable service for customers.
He currently serves on the boards of both the Smart Electric Power Alliance and the McCain Institute. Before joining APS, Guldner was a partner at Snell & Wilmer LLP practicing public utility law. He also served as a surface warfare officer in the United States Navy and taught naval science at the University of Washington.
