IAM Union members and supporters of Guide Dogs of America | Tender Loving Canines (GDA | TLC) recently held a charity week in Las Vegas to raise funds for the organization’s mission. The event included activities such as a sporting clay shoot, race car driving, ax throwing, golf, and a gala dinner. These efforts are aimed at supporting GDA | TLC’s work to provide service dogs for people who are blind or have conditions such as PTSD and autism.

Brian Bryant, International President of the IAM Union, thanked attendees and sponsors for their participation. He specifically acknowledged IAM Union members from various territories for their fundraising contributions. “IAM International President Brian Bryant expressed his gratitude, along with the entire IAM Executive Council, for the large turnout of participants and sponsors, particularly members of the IAM Union from different territories, for their fundraising efforts.”

The baseball-themed gala dinner on Saturday night was attended by more than 1,000 supporters. During this event, the “Gift of Sight” awards were presented to David Sullivan (IAM Eastern Territory General Vice President), Arthur Maratea (TCU/IAM National President), and Southwest Airlines.

Several speakers addressed how service dogs have changed recipients’ lives. A Canadian military veteran shared his personal story about his PTSD service dog named Oakley.
