IAM opens applications for 2026 scholarship competition

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) has announced that its 2026 IAM Scholarship Competition will begin accepting applications on October 1, 2025. The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 6, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Applications are to be submitted online.

Eligibility for the competition includes IAM members with at least two years of continuous service and their children who are current high school seniors in the United States and Canada. Details about the application process, rules, and general information can be found on the IAM Scholarship Competition page.

According to the IAM, “Out of the 300+ applicants in 2025, the IAM awarded 16 scholarships valued at $4,000 per student to members and their children.” The organization also provides a vocational-technical two-year scholarship as part of its awards.

The scholarship fund is supported exclusively by resources established by delegates from the 1960 IAM Grand Lodge Convention.
