More than 250 members of IAM Local 1211 in Erie, Pennsylvania, have voted to strike against Parker Lord due to unresolved economic issues. The union members manufacture vibration and motion control components for the aerospace industry. This action marks the first labor dispute for the local union since a strike in 1974 against LORD Corporation, which was acquired by Parker Hannifin in 2019.

Union officials cite dissatisfaction with wage proposals that have not kept up with the cost of living over the past five-year contract period. According to IAM District 98 Assistant Directing Business Representative Kermit Forbes, “Our members have shown patience and professionalism for years. But after decades without a strike, this vote reflects how serious these economic concerns have become and how determined our members are to fight for fair wages and respect on the job.”

The strike is scheduled to begin at midnight on Sunday, January 11, 2026. IAM Local 1211 has stated its willingness to return to negotiations and called on Parker Lord to present a proposal that acknowledges the value and dedication of its workforce.

The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers represents about 600,000 active and retired members across various industries in North America.
