Florida’s high school graduation rate reached 92.2% for the 2024-25 academic year, setting a new record for the state. Governor Ron DeSantis announced the milestone during his State of the State address. The figure represents a 2.5 percentage point increase over the previous year and an overall rise of 4.9 percentage points since the 2021-22 school year.
Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas commented on the achievement, stating, “Florida’s historic graduation rate reflects the power of Governor DeSantis’ strong leadership, clear expectations, and unwavering commitment to student success. These achievements demonstrate what can be accomplished when we uphold rigorous standards, provide robust support to schools and prepare every student for success beyond graduation.”
The recent gains follow efforts by state leaders to set higher standards in education, enhance accountability measures, affirm parental rights in schooling decisions, and expand educational options for families across Florida.
State officials have emphasized that these improvements are part of a broader initiative to ensure all students are prepared for further education or careers after high school.
