The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) has scheduled a Special Commission Conference for November 20, 2025, to review the proposed Settlement Agreement from Florida Power & Light Company (FPL). This agreement is linked to FPL’s ongoing rate case petition that was initially filed on February 28, 2025.

According to the FPSC, the settlement represents significant collaboration between various stakeholders. Parties involved in the agreement include customer groups, business organizations, and advocacy groups such as the Florida Industrial Power Users Group, Florida Retail Federation, Florida Energy for Innovation Association, Walmart Inc., EVgo Services, Americans for Affordable Clean Energy, Circle K Stores, RaceTrac, Wawa, Electrify America, Federal Executive Agencies, Armstrong World Industries, and the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy.

A two-week evidentiary hearing began on October 6, 2025. During this period all parties had an opportunity to present testimony and cross-examine witnesses regarding both the proposed settlement and FPL’s original rate request.

The conference will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Betty Easley Conference Center in Tallahassee.
