A new partnership between Florida Orange Juice and the Tampa Bay Lightning has begun as the hockey pre-season gets underway. The collaboration, which also involves Benchmark International Arena, aims to promote Florida Orange Juice during the 2025-26 NHL season and at other events hosted at the arena.

According to Steve Johnson, Chairman of the Florida Citrus Commission, fans attending Tampa Bay Lightning games and other arena events will be able to participate in promotions featuring Florida Orange Juice. These include mocktails served inside the arena, pregame giveaways, and interactive product sampling stations located at Ford Thunder Alley and Publix Plaza during select home games. Community activities will also feature appearances by the team’s mascot, Thunderbug, as well as opportunities for behind-the-scenes experiences during morning skate sessions.

Benchmark International Arena hosts not only hockey but also music concerts and entertainment events such as Monster Truck Jam. The partnership is expected to provide significant exposure for Florida Orange Juice to consumers nationwide.

“Florida Orange Juice is The Original Wellness Drink. An 8-ounce glass of what we grow — the world’s best 100% orange juice — is an excellent source of vitamin C, has electrolytes like potassium and magnesium, and other nutrients to support hydration, workout recovery and overall immune system wellness. We provide a functional beverage that’s perfect for athletes, fans and families looking for valuable health benefits that’s easy to serve and tastes delicious,” Johnson said.

Johnson emphasized that marketing efforts from the Florida Department of Citrus are focused on maintaining visibility for Florida Orange Juice among today’s consumers. He noted optimism within the industry regarding ongoing efforts to recover and replant citrus groves across Florida.

“As I see it today, we are, indeed, a bright future for The Sunshine State,” Johnson said.

Steve Johnson serves as Chairman of the Florida Citrus Commission and is owner and general manager of Johnson Harvesting, Inc., based in Wauchula, FL.
