Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is set to host its annual Homecoming celebration, themed “Paradise Island,” from Thursday, October 30 through Saturday, November 8. The event series is open to all FAU students, faculty, and staff.

Activities will take place across the university’s Boca Raton campus at 777 Glades Road. Among the highlights are athletic events featuring the Owls’ teams. Fans can support the men’s basketball team under second-year head coach John Jakus as they play against Florida Institute of Technology. The official season opener for the Owls will see them face Boston College Eagles from the ACC. Additionally, head coach LeAnn Freeland will make her debut leading the women’s basketball team against Florida Memorial.

The Homecoming schedule includes a variety of entertainment and community events such as music performances, giveaways, games, inflatables, live music sessions, and food offerings. There will also be opportunities for attendees to collect limited-edition merchandise.

A service project during Homecoming aims to honor loved ones affected by mental health issues and raise awareness about suicide prevention. According to organizers: “This service project honors loved ones, raises awareness and supports those impacted by mental health. Every step helps fund research, advocacy and programs that give hope and save lives. Be part of a nationwide movement to bring suicide ‘out of the darkness’ and into the light.”

Other notable activities include meeting candidates for Homecoming court at the Student Union while participating in interactive experiences like making stuffed animals and enjoying treats.

The festivities extend beyond athletics and entertainment with a 5K RunWalk dedicated to honoring veterans while promoting wellness and community engagement.

Greek life organizations will participate in Stroll-off in Paradise Island as part of game weekend traditions with performances by both National Panhellenic Council and United Greek Council groups.

The main football event features FAU facing off against Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Flagler Credit Union Stadium; tailgating precedes kickoff with Homecoming Court winners announced during halftime.

Outside campus grounds, “Exploring the Villa” invites participants to discover local businesses throughout Boca Raton offering special discounts during Homecoming week.

At FAU’s John D. MacArthur Campus in Jupiter (5353 Parkside Drive), students can attend a Halloween-themed ball featuring costume contests along with CarnivOWL—an evening celebrating school spirit through food stalls, crafts activities including a giant swing ride and dunk tank attractions.

Broward campuses will host tropical-themed gatherings where attendees can craft keepsakes such as messages in bottles or decorate mini surfboards while enjoying meals and collecting branded merchandise (while supplies last).
