In 2025, Duke Energy Florida employees contributed to more than $1 million in community investment through local nonprofit organizations. From January to November, employees donated over $293,000 and volunteered nearly 11,000 hours in their communities. The value of these volunteer hours was calculated at more than $380,000. The Duke Energy Foundation matched employee donations and volunteer time with an additional $387,000.

Melissa Seixas, Duke Energy Florida state president, stated: “Caring for our customers is intrinsic to the work Duke Energy employees do every day, so it’s no surprise that they would choose to continue giving back however they can. I’m proud to work alongside these incredibly generous men and women who are living out our company’s core principles, and in turn, creating real, tangible value for the people and communities we serve.”

During the year, the Duke Energy Foundation also made investments across its 35-county service area in Florida. These included $300,000 for climate resiliency projects, $789,000 to support colleges and universities, $163,000 in grants for emergency preparedness and resiliency, and $125,000 in grants aimed at reducing food insecurity.

The company acknowledged rising costs faced by customers and said it remains focused on controlling its own expenses while offering resources to help customers save money on their bills. More information about ways to save is available at duke-energy.com/SeasonalSavings.
