The U.S. Census Bureau released on April 9 a downloadable file with estimates of the resident population in the United States by single year of age and sex as of July 1, 2025.
These new data provide updated information about the demographic composition of the country, which is important for government planning, policy making, and research. The release is part of ongoing efforts to keep up-to-date records on population changes across the nation.
According to the Census Bureau, additional releases are planned in the coming months. These will include housing unit estimates for the nation, states, and counties; population estimates for cities and towns; as well as more detailed breakdowns by age, sex, race, and Hispanic origin for various geographic areas such as metropolitan and micropolitan statistical areas. The bureau also plans to release Puerto Rico Commonwealth and municipio population estimates by age and sex.
There was no formal news release associated with this product; instead, it was distributed through a tip sheet.
