Cartier opens boutique in Palm Beach as retail leasing activity rises across South Florida

French luxury brand Cartier has opened a new boutique in Palm Beach, leasing space at 70 Royal Poinciana Plaza within the historic Royal Poinciana Plaza. According to a news release from Cartier, the store occupies part of the Royal Poinciana Playhouse. Founded nearly two centuries ago and led by Cyrille Vigneron, Paris-based Cartier is recognized for its jewelry, watches, leather goods, fragrances, and accessories.

The Royal Poinciana Plaza spans 192,000 square feet and was developed in the 1950s. The playhouse section was completed in 1958 and designed by architect John Volk in the Regency Revival style. Ownership of the plaza is held by a trust led by Sidney Spiegel, while WS Development of Boston holds a leasehold interest.

Cartier’s opening follows other recent leases at Royal Poinciana Plaza. New tenants include Hill House Home (apparel, home goods and accessories), Swedish candy retailer ScandyCandy, and British childrenswear shop La Coqueta. The specific size of Cartier’s leased space was not disclosed.

In Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, SunLife Organics—a juice bar and wellness company—will open a location at Calle Collective inside Fisher Brothers’ Joule House apartment building at 2200 Northwest First Avenue. According to a release from the landlord, SunLife has leased 2,000 square feet with plans to open in the third quarter. Masonre represented both Fisher Brothers and SunLife in negotiations; Clark Briffel and Myles Grossman also represented Fisher Brothers.

SunLife Organics is owned by Khalil Rafati. Joule House is an eight-story residential property with 308 units completed this year by New York-based Fisher Brothers under leadership from the Fisher family. Calle Collective features murals created by Miami artists.

In Fort Lauderdale’s Cypress Creek area, Pinecrest Square shopping center has reached full occupancy after several new leases were signed. Trustbridge Hospice Foundation will occupy 4,600 square feet for a hospice furniture showroom at 903-999 East Cypress Creek Road. Bagels & Co., Bio Health IV Clinic (infusion therapy), Guys & Dolls Barbershop (which renegotiated its existing lease), Tacos Los Guachi’s (1,700 square feet), Kavasutra Kava Bar (1,400 square feet), and Dr. Henry Merritt (1,200 square feet) have all signed or renewed leases according to Native Realty’s Jaime Sturgis.

Trustbridge Hospice Foundation along with Bagels & Co., Bio Health IV Clinic are expected to open early next year as stated by Sturgis.

Entity 903 Cypress Creek acquired Pinecrest Square for $10.3 million in June according to public records; the plaza totals about 40,000 square feet on two acres and was built in 1980.
